Tutorial[]

We have a Tutorial! That's where you should start out if you're not already familiar with MediaWiki (the plaform that our site runs on).

How do I edit an already-existing page?[]

  1. Make sure you're logged into the site. You may need to create an account first.
  2. Go to the page you wish to create.
  3. You have a few options next:
    • To edit a player or team infobox (that's the box on the right-hand side of the page), you will want to click "Edit with Form" in the upper-right corner.
    • To edit the main body text in multiple sections on a page, you will want to click "Edit" in the upper-right corner.
    • To edit the main body text in just a single section on a page, click [edit] next to the section header (occasionally this won't be an option, and you'll have to click the Edit button at the top).
  4. Make your desired change. You can read about MediaWiki formatting here.
  5. Click Show Preview at the bottom, and ensure your page looks the way you want it to.
  6. Scroll down and click Save Page.
  7. Wait for your edit to be approved by an Editor. If you think this is taking too long, contact us.

How do I create a new page?[]

  1. Navigate to the URL that the page should be at (e.g. if you want to make a page for Faker, go to rl-esports.gamepedia.com/Faker).
  2. Click "Create" at the top.
  3. If the page is for a player, team, or tournament, click on the appropriate link at the top. This will give you a template to fill out.
  4. Put all of the desired information into the page.
  5. Click Show Preview at the bottom, and ensure your page looks the way you want it to.
  6. Scroll down and click Save Page.
  7. Wait for your page to be approved by an Editor. If you think this is taking too long, contact us.
  8. If your page is for a player or team that has an "unusual" capitalization (e.g. FaNaTiz), please make a redirect of the name with "normal" capitalization (in this case, "Fanatiz") to the page you just created.

How do I move a page to a new URL?[]

You need to have Administrator permissions to do this. If you think a page needs to be moved, please contact a staff member. See a list of people with administrator privileges here.

How do I delete a page?[]

Again, you need to be an Administrator to do this. If you think a page needs to be deleted, contact us!
